While working on the drawings for the Western Pygmy Possum it occurred to me that this small creature could be mistaken for a mouse. My thoughts ran to the well known counting rhyme, Hickory Dickory Dock, suggesting the image of time running out for the possum. It's familiar habitat is changing, the wheels of progress move on, the cogs turn and the possum is caught in a strange new world.
